Hi, I'm Melissa Perry, the business midwife behind Sevyn Streams. I'm a wife, a mom of three, a high school cross country coach, a former college athlete, and a founder who has personally built, scaled, and sold companies of her own.
Why Sevyn Streams exists
The woman I was before those exits deserved someone like this.
There's a version of you that has been building for everyone else for a long time: the church, the company, the household. You've been the steady hand, the gifted one, the person everyone else leans on. Somewhere in the middle of all of that, your own calling got put on hold. It wasn't because you stopped believing in it. It was because nobody ever helped you build it.
That's the gap I exist to close. I don't hand women a generic framework and tell them to figure it out. I sit with them. I listen for the thing God put in them, the gift, the story, and the process that has been there the whole time, and I help them build something real around it. Not someday. Now.
The difference
A doula walks beside you. A midwife is skilled, trained, and in the room with you when it's time to deliver. That's what I do.
I've lived it
I'm not guessing. I'm drawing from the map.
I haven't just coached women through this. I've lived every phase of it myself. I know what it feels like to start with nothing but an idea and no system to hold it. I know what it takes to build something real, and I know what it takes to walk away from it on your own terms.
That experience is the reason I can sit across from you and tell you exactly what to do next. Not because I read it somewhere, but because I've been in every room this process takes you through.
A few things that make me, me
Off the clock.
- I have a gorgeous husband, three kids, and a puppy named Selah. The kids promised to walk her every day. I do all the walking.
- My dream day starts with a deep quiet time followed by a long run, especially with friends.
- We once won a car on Ellen. Yes, really.
- I will only drink coffee from boutique coffee shops. Starbucks is a hard no.
- I love to laugh, and I surround myself with people who do too.
- Nothing lights me up more than watching a woman figure out her purpose and actually live it out.
